We are incredibly lucky in this country to have so many well organised tasting events where winemakers from all over the world bring their wines to be tasted. It goes to show how valuable the UK market is. But that doesn't mean it is an easy market. The general feeling from many in the industry is that we'll see more price rises soon this year. Several regions have experiened short harvests as well as inflation of bottles, packaging etc. Add to that the fuel and currency surcharges already being applied and prices have to go up. Not to panic though! there is plenty of wine around - it is just a bit harder for me to ensure I get the best value for flavour for all my customers. Watch this space!
