Well I’m off to Bordeaux on Sunday for 5 intensive days of tasting the 2009 wines.
It’s the week when wine merchants and journalists from around the world cluster around the villages and the chateaux tasting from barrels. At the end of the week our collective wisdom will set the general opinion on the vintage and more importantly – the prices. From April there will be a manic few weeks while the prices are published and quantities allocated.
The signs are that 2009 is a very good year – so I wanted to go and find our first hand myself.
You can follow me and count the wines I taste, try not to get lost between chateaux, and hopefully have a few good meals in Bordeaux. I’m staying at Ch Preuillac and will be meeting up with other MWs and journalists on our way around.
