Spring in France
April 22nd 2008Some growers say it is a normal spring, but becuase we have got so used to seeing a warm start to the year, it just seems cooler than usual. There is still a danger of frost in the northern regions, so this late start actually helps reduce the risk of damage to the young shoots. I called in to Champagne Pierson Whitaker and Didier is busy tending his vineyards in England as well as Avize. It will be a little while yet before the English fizz is avaialble, but I'm looking forward to it when it is.
