Casa Silva Coleccion Carmenere 2009
Colchagua, Chile
|
The Silva family have been based in Colchagua for over 100 years. Carmenere grape was mostly blended for some years, but now the Chileans realise that they have an interesting variety with its own unique flavour that is rather special. The aroma of this deep red is of ripe, soft black fruits like cherries and brambles. It tastes of smooth ripe, succulent fruits, very soft and mellow. A little spice and a lovely velvety texture make it a stylish and satisfying wine.
