Ch de Francs 2005

Bordeaux-Cotes de Francs

Ch de Francs 2005

There are many high priced Bordeaux, but also some good value wines, especially from areas like Cotes de Francs, east of St Emilion. These outlying districts are where you can find the investment and excitment of the region. Ch de Francs is a splendid ancient property, today making very attractive wines. This is predominantly Merlot and so has elements of blackberry mixed in with the blackcurrant flavours. It is mediu bodied but the 14 month oak ageing gives it a structure and weight associated with more expensive wines. This is a winner with Sunday roasts and will keep well for a further 3-4 years.
